Youth Philanthropy Group supporting special causes
In 2008 the Youth Philanthropy Council of the Dauphin and District Community Foundation, took a more active role by volunteering at several community events.
The youth volunteered at activities such as the Canadian Diabetes Association's Clothesline Blitz and various other Diabetes Day Activities as well as reading and mentoring elementary school students in Dauphin.
The Youth Philanthropy Council under the direction of teacher supervisor Colleen Sulatyski and foundation board member Chris Carefoot, made their 2008 grants as follows: • $500 to Whitmore School Breakfast Program • $415 to Dauphin Regional Secondary School Beautification, • $1,000 for a sound system in the Multi-Purpose Room of the DRCSS • $1,085 to the Parkland Youth Football Club • $1,000 to the DRCSS for band instruments.
