Steps are being taken to involve the youth in our community in the life-long experience of philanthropy. This project will give young people a chance to learn about and practice grant-making, under the guidance of the Dauphin & District Community Foundation Board. The Council is composed of youth between the ages of 13 and 18 from our community who will be initiating and receiving grant requests from youth related community projects. Students will be encouraged to explore community needs to determine where and how the money will be spent. The program is intended broaden their understanding of community, volunteerism and public service.
